Johanna Morgan Richardson (1992) is a West Australian, Visual Artist based in Perth. Owner and founder of business Little Jo Studio, Johanna practices primarily in the areas of painting and drawing. However, her compositions involve other mediums such as printmaking, illustration, fashion and various design.
Johanna covers a variety of subjects and styles ranging from fine illustration to more graphic and expressive art. Through her expressive use of biro, ink and acrylic Johanna’s artworks explore the relationship between the individual and society and celebrate the diversity of the human form and intellect.
After graduating her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, Johanna began working as a freelance artist in 2015 undertaking commissions and exhibiting locally. Her work has received local and international accolades including, (Young Artists Award) City of South Perth Emerging Artist Awards, inclusion in various solo and group exhibitions such as Perspectives at the Art Gallery of Western Australia in 2009, Emerging Artists Awards for 3 years running and ’Faces’ exhibition at A + A Art Gallery, Subiaco.
Johanna has also exhibited three solo collections; ‘The Ellington Collection’ at the Ellington Jazz Club, Mt Lawley in 2016, ’Face On’ at Common Ground Collective, Fremantle in 2017 and ‘Studio Selection’ at The Park Centre, Victoria Park in 2018.
Johanna's artwork has toured regional Western Australia and was also exhibited in Tokyo's Ueno Royal Museum.
